Adult club fight brings charges against women
Three women face assault charges following a weekend fight inside the bathroom at Thee Southern Belle, a late-hours gentlemen’s club in the Charleston Neck area.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the club at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday where, according to authorities, three women had entered a restroom and two of them went into the same handicapped stall.
An attendant approached and told the women that house rules allow only one person per stall.
The confrontation quickly escalated into verbal disputes and pushing, with differing versions of what happened.
One of the women reportedly told police that other “strippers” came out of nowhere and “jumped” into the altercation and began assaulting the three, according to an incident report.
Another version was that the three women who originally came into the bathroom together were responsible for going after the attendant, beating her violently.
Several individuals, including security, responded and broke up the fight, according to authorities.
One of the injuries included a bitten and bleeding thumb.
Charged were Tabitha L. Burns, 25, of Charleston; Bianca L. Burns, 23, of Charleston; and Martha Castellanos-Avendano, 27, of Walterboro.
Each was lodged at the Cannon Detention Center on charges of third-degree assault by mob.
The club is located at 2028 Pittsburg Ave., in an industrial stretch between Charleston and North Charleston.
A plastic bag with a white powder that later field-tested presumptive positive for cocaine was found at the scene, according to a responding Charleston County sheriff’s deputy incident report.
