A trip to Florence ended in a 27-3 loss for Cane Bay Thursday night when they traveled to take on the West Florence Knights.
Cane Bay's Romante Fraiser had a good night, returning a second-quarter kickoff 83 yards down to the West Florence 15. Cane Bay had to settle for a field goal, but Fraiser led the 0-9 Cobras with 86 yards rushing.
Cane Bay quarterback Devin Kilgore threw for 61 yards during the game, but left in the fourth quarter with an injury.
Also on Thursday night, the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes rallied with 18 unanswered points and knocked off visiting Beaufort, 25-21, to remain alive for the Region 8-AAAA title.
Ashley Ridge improved to 4-5 overall but more importantly 2-1 in Region 8-AAA with two games remaining. Beaufort dropped to 6-3 overall and 1-2.
