Senior running back Matt Murray ran for four touchdowns to lead Fort Dorchester to a 62-34 win over visiting Bluffton on Friday.

Murray scored on runs of 4, 18, 50 and 4 yards to help the Patriots improve to 6-3 overall, 2-1 in Region 8-AAAA. Bluffton is 5-4, 1-2.

Bluffton had two TD runs from LaQuan Washington. Gerald Roberson scored on an 85-yard pass play from quarterback Alex Davis. Jawara Middleton scored on a 97-yard kickoff return for Bluffton.

BEAUFORT — The Battery Creek Dolphins rolled past short-handed Burke on Friday, 62-0, to improve to 4-5 overall and 3-3 in Region 6-AA. Battery Creek can finish .500 for a second-consecutive year with a victory at Academic Magnet next week. And another Class AA playoff berth waits after the regular season.

Raheem Cooper took the opening kickoff 72 yards for a score. Fellow senior Yuneek Crittendon added two rushing touchdowns and 104 yards in a half of work.

The Dolphins will try for their third consecutive victory to close the regular season with a 5-5 record.

Last season, Battery Creek won its first playoff game since 2002. The plan was to continue building. Battery Creek wanted to improve on 2012, to finish the regular season above .500.

The Bulldogs converted only six first downs, two in the second half. Battery Creek forced four turnovers.

RIDGELAND — Ridgeland-Hardeeville defensive end Tyree Simmons’ fourth-down sack helped the Jaguars secure a 20-16 win over Garrett Tech. Garrett was three of sixth on its fourth-down tries.

Tony Flint scored on a 2-yard run with just under five minutes and added the two-point conversion as the Falcons pulled within four points before Ridgeland-Hardeeville stopped a potential game-winning drive with 18 seconds left.

Garrett had five different tailbacks carry at least seven times, with Nathaniel Ancrum rushing for 57 yards and Jamey Cooper carrying for 54 yards.
