Charleston County sheriff’s deputies have found an elderly woman who went missing from her Ladson home Thursday morning.
Delores Dawson, 76, was found around 1:30 p.m. at a prior home on Lucky Road in Charleston, deputies said.
Dawson went missing from her Outwood Street home in the Woodside subdivision, Maj. Jim Brady said. She apparently wandered from the home around 8 a.m.
Dawson has been diagnosed with the early stages of dementia, Brady said. She is known to walk along the streets surrounding her home.
A possible sighting was reported at an auto-crushing business on Royal Road around 8:30 a.m., Brady said.
Investigators determined that DAwson took a CARTA bus to James Island around noon. She will be transported to a local hospital for a medical checkup, Brady said.
