Two men who stole a cash register and cigarettes from a King Street grocery store were caught on camera.
Charleston police released shots of the two in action Wednesday.
Police were called to check out a burglary at Martha’s Quick Stop at 687 King St. just before 6 a.m. Oct. 6. Officers found the glass on the front door broken, with a large brick on the floor inside the building.
The owner told police that about 60 packs of Newport cigarettes were missing, as well a $2,500 cash register holding an unknown amount of cash. The cost of replacing the glass in the door was estimated at $450.
Store video shows two men standing by the front door while one of them breaks out the glass with a big brick or concrete block. They can also be clearly seen climbing inside, grabbing the cash register and loading up on cigarettes, then climbing back out with the loot and running away.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
