Graham raises $1.1M in 3 months, has $7M on hand
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham raised more than $1.1 million in the third quarter of 2013 and has almost $7 million on hand going into his re-election next year.
Graham’s campaign released its numbers Tuesday and said his warchest is bigger than ever.
Bart Daniel, a Charleston lawyer who helped organize a recent Charleston event for Graham’s campaign, called Graham “one of the few leaders in Washington who is trying to bring people together for the common good.”
However, some Republicans in South Carolina don’t think Graham is conservative enough, and at least three candidates have said they plan to run against him in next June’s GOP primary.
They are state Sen. Lee Bright of Spartanburg, Piedmont businessman Richard Cash, and businesswoman Nancy Mace, who also is The Citadel’s first female graduate. None had released their quarterly fundraising figures by Tuesday.
Graham raised a total of $1.17 million from July 1 through Sept. 30 and spent more than $533,000. His campaign said it’s the third consecutive quarter Graham has raised more than $1.1 million.
