The man shot at a Walterboro motel Saturday told investigators another man forced his way into his room and shot him several times, according to an incident report.
Walterboro police responded to the Sunset Inn on Bells Highway near the Interstate 95 interchange at about 8:30 p.m. and found 30-year-old Maurice Kemp with gunshot wounds to his left chest and left cheek, according to investigators.
Kemp told police he was shot by Rodney Faulkenberry, 55, of Walterboro, during a fight inside Kemp’s room, authorities said.
Kemp was taken by ambulance to the Medical University Hospital. Faulkenberry was arrested that night and charged with attempted murder.
