A Georgia-based bank is setting up a financing arm in Charleston that will focus on equipment purchases and leases.
Synovus Bank said the new lending unit is “designed to drive revenue growth with small, middle, and large commercial banking customers.”
It did not say in a statement where in Charleston region the equipment finance group will be based. A spokesman was no immediately available for comment today.
John Geist, a former commercial banking executive with Bank of America, is president of the new lending unit.
Synovus Bank is part of Columbus-Ga-based Synovus Financial Corp., which also owns National Bank fo South Carolina, or NBSC.
