Charleston police are asking for help finding a man they say beat and threatened to kill the mother of his month-old son.
Eric Leroy Vandyke, 48, of Old Charleston Highway on Johns Island is wanted on a charge of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
Vandyke assaulted the mother of his son in an apartment on William Kennerty Drive around noon Sunday, according to police. Investigators say he hit her, causing a large contusion to her forehead, then grabbed her by the hair and dragged her across the floor. Then he grabbed a gray handgun and threatened to kill her if she called police, according to police.
Vandyke has black hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.
