A Charleston man won $250,000 from playing a scratch-off ticket, the third time he has won at least a 5-digit jackpot, South Carolina Education lottery officials said Thursday.
The man, whose name was not released, had won $10,000 and $25,000 in the past before recently scratching his way to a quarter of a million dollar prize by playing the Big Money game.
“Those wins just softened me up,” he told lottery officials. “The Powerball jackpot’s next.”
He bought the ticket at the Spinx 350 in North Charleston, which will receive a commission of $2,500.
