The Gibbes Museum of Art has announced new members of its board of directors. They are David Adams, Ann Burnett, Esther Ferguson, Shannon Gillespie, Leonard Hutchison, Lucinda Lenhardt, Catherine Smith and Andrea Volpe. Also, Laura Gates has been elected 2013-14 president. Other officers are: Jill Almeida, first vice president; John Hallett, second vice president; Harriet Smartt, secretary; and Eleanor Hale, treasurer.
Steve Dykes, director of Charleston County’s Economic Development Office, has been elected to the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association 2013-14 board of directors.
Steve Bedard, chief financial officer for the city of Charleston, has been named the recipient of the Medical University of South Carolina Presidential Merit Award.
