Electricity has been restored to two beach communities after outages Friday afternoon, sources said.
More than 800 SCE&G customers were without power on Folly Beach from about 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., according to spokeswoman Kim Asbill.
The outage was due to a broken cross arm on a power pole, she said.
An unrelated outage affected about 660 Berkeley Electric Cooperative on Kiawah Island at about the same time, spokesman Micah Ponce said. That outage was caused by equipment failure in a substation, he said. Power was restored at about 2:15 p.m.
