A mobile-home park owner saw a man climbing in a window and held in him at gunpoint in handcuffs until officers arrived to arrest him, according to North Charleston police.
Robert Windom, 42, owns the mobile-home park at 2035 Tipson St. He saw a man climb through a window of one of the units about 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the incident report. Windom ran to his truck to get his gun and ordered the man to come back out through the window, according to the report. Then he asked a resident to get his handcuffs out of his truck. When officers arrived, the man was on the ground in handcuffs with Windom holding a gun on him.
Jerome Sprague, 23, who police believe lives somewhere off Remount Road, was arrested on burglary and breaking and entering charges. He was being held in the Charleston County jail Thursday.
Windom told The Post and Courier he was a police officer in Henrico County Va.
