Suspect in fatal shootout at North Charleston bar arrested

Thomas Scott Mcfadden Jr., 21, of West Carolina Avenue in Summerville is accused of shooting two men in a gunfight at a North Charleston bar.

A Summerville man accused of shooting two men in a gunfight at a North Charleston bar earlier this month is behind bars.

Thomas Scott Mcfadden Jr., 21, of West Carolina Avenue in Summerville was arrested Monday on charges of murder and attempted murder, Dorchester County Chief Deputy Sam Richardson said.

Mcfadden is accused of shooting two men in a gunfight Sept. 13 at the Rehab Bar & Grill at 8484 Dorchester Road.

Rashaad Banks, 26, of North Charleston was killed in the shootout, according to the arrest affidavit. His body was found several hours later lying along Dorchester Road with a gunshot wound to the back.

Mcfadden is also accused of wounding Markice Lawrence in the shootout.

Mcfadden was arrested Monday in West Ashley, Richardson said. Charleston County deputies assisted.

Mcfadden was being held Tuesday in the Dorchester County jail.
