Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies are investigating after someone fired multiple rounds into a Summerville home in a drive-by shooting early Friday.
The gunfire erupted in the Greenhurst subdivision about 1 a.m., an incident report states.
Capt. Tony Phinney said no injuries were reported in the shooting. The home where the shooting happened and multiple nearby vehicles were struck by bullets, deputies said.
A witness told deputies that a gunman leaned out of an older-model Honda that was stopped in the road.
Deputies later found the vehicle parked on Terry Avenue with the engine running and no one inside, according to the incident report. A bullet was found on the ground near its driver’s side, deputies said.
The vehicle was reported stolen on Wednesday out of Charleston County, according to the report.
Phinney said authorities haven’t determined a motive in the shooting. A suspect in the case has not been identified.
