Two kayakers got stuck on a beach near Edisto Island and had to be rescued Thursday, according to the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard’s Charleston station got a call about 10:52 a.m. that two kayakers were being pulled out to sea near Edisto Island. They eventually made their way to a beach near Otter Island.
A Charleston crew aboard an MH-65 Dolpin helicopter was sent to assist at 11:55 a.m. The crew lowered a radio to the kayakers and directed a boat crew from the Edisto Beach Fire Department to their position.
The boat crew picked up the kayakers and took them to the Edisto Island Yacht Club. No injuries were reported.
