The Edisto Island Museum is featuring the paintings of local artist Bonnie Doty through December.
Doty is this year’s Edisto & Beyond Tour artist. The exhibit features a seven-year retrospective of Doty’s paintings in watercolor, oil and mixed media.
Her passion is interpreting landscapes, especially those of Edisto Island.
Doty grew up in Summerville and earned her BFA from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, majoring in commercial art.
She and her husband, Bud, retired to Edisto Island and placed a conservation easement on their property to guarantee that there will always be natural vistas for artists on Edisto.
The Museum is at 8213 Chisolm Plantation Road and is open Tuesdays through Saturdays. Go to www. edistomuseum.org for museum hours and more information.
