Skeletal remains found in Dorchester County
The skeletal remains of a Summerville man were found in a wooded area and the coroner has ruled his death a homicide.
Coroner Chris Nisbet identified the man as 24-year-old Larry Jackson.
His remains were found by hunters on Aug. 17 in the wooded area of Utsey Hill Road in Grover, according to Nisbet.
He was identified through dental records and an anthropology examination.
Jackson died as a result of a single gunshot wound to the head, according to Nisbet.
He’d been reported missing to the Summerville Police Department on April 29 by his girlfriend and sister, Nisbet said.
He was reported last seen on April 27 at 2 p.m. in the Brownsville area, officials said.
