Seven Lowcountry residents are accused of fraudulently selling metal containers totaling more than $20,000 to a recycling center in Hampton County, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.
SLED agents Tuesday arrested Abraham Young, 47, of Green Pond; Richard Young, 36, of Walterboro; Marc Anthony DuPont, 38, of Ridgeland; and Rodolfo Taylor, 65, of Walterboro on charges of breach of trust with fraudulent intent over $2,000 but less than $10,000.
Eric Lamont Ferguson, 39, of Ruffin; Antonio Deshawn Ferguson, 31, of Walterboro; and John Lee Drayton, 61, of Hilton Head Island are charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent $2,000 or less, SLED stated.
Arrest affidavits state that some of the men worked for Waste Management and others for Republic Services. They allegedly used their jobs to obtain metal containers that they later sold Simco Recycling Center in Hampton County for personal gain, the affidavits stated.
The seven men were booked into the Hampton County Detention Center.
