COLUMBIA — The former leader of the world’s 70 million Anglicans is making a trip to South Carolina this weekend.
Trinity Episcopal Cathedral says George Carey is leading a weekend of celebration at the Columbia church this weekend.
Carey is preaching at two services on Sunday and will lead a discussion on the power of Anglican worship. He is also preaching for an afternoon hymn festival.
Carey was archbishop from 1991 until 2002. Events he presided over include Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997.
