Rick Reinert of Reinert LePrince Fine Art Gallery in Charleston and AuburnJames Winery in California have teamed up for the release of a wine as part of the Napa Valley Artist Series.
Reinert’s 2012 painting, “After the Rain on Fulton Lane” was chosen by winery co-founder and Charleston resident Mary Ann Cope for the label of AuburnJames’ 2009 Meritage.
“Rick’s expressionistic interpretation of the soft glowing gas lamps of Fulton Lane after a late afternoon rain captures the feelings associated with those peaceful summer moments in our memories,” Cope says.
The wine itself is a blend of all five traditional Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cab Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot — aged 28 months in French Oak.
AuburnJames and its winemaker James Frost will be pouring the wine and others from 5-8 p.m. today during the Art Walk at the Reinert LePrince Gallery, 179 King St.
