The Mount Pleasant-based outpost of an international commercial real estate business is expanding its reach to the Upstate.
Avison Young said today it’s opening an office in Greenville through a merger with Colonial Commercial. It’s the Toronto-based company’s third office in South Carolina.
“Greenville is a strategic location for Avison Young, as much of what is manufactured in Greenville is served by the Port of Charleston both from a distribution and an import/export strategy,” said Mark E. Rose, CEO of Avison Young. “The city’s proximity to other major metropolitan areas, such as Atlanta, makes Greenville an important location for Avison Young to continue to grow its presence.”
The firm opened its first office in the Palmetto State about 18 months ago Mount Pleasant. Chris Fraser, who is a member of the Charleston County School District board, is principal of its South Carolina operations.
The company added a Columbia office in April. The Upstate location has eight brokers and associates.
“This expansion complements our existing activities in North Carolina, enhances our offerings available to clients across North America, and sets us up well for further expansion in the southern U.S., ” Fraser said in a statement.
