A 27-year-old James Island man is accused of stalking his former girlfriend.
Tristian Cheek of Fleming Road was arrested Monday and he is being held at the Charleston County jail on a felony stalking count. Bail has not yet been set.
His former girlfriend contacted Charleston police on Aug. 23 and reported that he had continued to show up at her peninsula home uninvited though she had broken off their relationship in January, according to a police report.
The woman told officers that Cheek had texted and called her more than 70 times after she told him to stop contacting her, police said. She told police that he also showed up at places where she went and that she is afraid of him, the report stated.
