Goose Creek High School employee accused of groping 12-year-old girl

Arthur Prioleau, 59, of Kinglet Lane in Hanahan is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

A Goose Creek High School employee has been placed on administrative leave after being accused of groping a 12-year-old girl, authorities said.

Hanahan police on Wednesday arrested Arthur Prioleau, 59, of Kinglet Lane in Hanahan, an incident report states. He is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, police said.

On July 22, the girl’s father flagged down officers on Campbell Street near Yeamans Hall Road and complained of a sexual assault.

The man told police that his daughter had called him in tears because Prioleau touched her multiple times on her buttocks and breasts.

Prioleau told the girl not to tell her relatives what happened, a report states. The alleged groping occurred outside of the girl’s clothing, police said.

Officers arrested Prioleau at gas station, the report states. He was held at the Berkeley County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bail, court records show.

Berkeley County School District spokeswoman Susan Haire said Prioleau was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Prioleau assisted with in-school suspension at Goose Creek High School, Haire said.
