Charleston election filings released

The final list of candidates for Charleston’s Nov. 5 municipal elections has been released, with four competitive races set up for City Council.

They are:

District 2: Incumbent Blake Hallman is being challenged by Rodney Williams.

District 4: Liz Fulton is challenging incumbent Robert M. Mitchell.

District 6: There are five candidates. Fran Clasby, Lauretta Lemon Dailey, Benjamin D’Allesandro and Joe Good are challenging incumbent William Dudley Gregorie.

District 8: Bobbie Rose is challenging incumbent Mike Seekings.

Unopposed this year are council members Dean Riegel and Kathleen Wilson.

The Charleston Water System Board of Commissioners open-seat race has three candidates, incumbent William Koopman, Catherine LaFond and Tim Mallard.
