A 20-year-old Wando man died after he was shot outside of a nightclub in the rural Cainhoy community early Sunday morning.
Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said Herman Manigault III was shot about 4 a.m. at a club called A Place in the Woods. He was taken to a Mount Pleasant hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:26 a.m., he said.
An autopsy is scheduled for this afternoon.
Berkeley County Sheriff’s Capt. Rick Ollic said deputies responded to the shooting at 1020 Hamlin Corner Road, located just off Cainhoy Road, and found the injured man in the parking lot.
No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting, Ollic said.
