SUMMERVILLE — For months, Dorchester Seniors board members have been squabbling over alleged improprieties in how its money is spent, dragging County Councilman Larry Hargett and state agencies into it without resolution.
State agencies have told the board that nothing improper is taking place, but the squabbling goes on. On Monday, County Council will try to thrash it out, meeting in open session with board members to hear all sides.
“We’re not really sure what’s going on here, but we can’t seem to get to the bottom of it,” Council Chairman Bill Hearn said. “It’s alarming and distracting, and I’m not sure what the point of it is.”
The special meeting is scheduled 3 p.m. at the human services building, 500 N. Main St., Summerville.
