ANDERSON, S.C. -- Investigators say a man shot another man to death in a Honea Path bar because he was tired of the victim bragging about how he beat the other man up.
The Anderson Independent-Mail reported the testimony was part of a preliminary hearing Friday. A judge ruled a murder charge against 31-year-old Alex Anderson can be taken to a grand jury.
Authorities say Anderson told them he was angry with 38-year-old Broadus White Jr. because White knocked out some of his teeth in a fight over a drug deal. The two men were in the same bar on Aug. 3, and Anderson got angry and shot White after hearing him tell a woman about the fight.
Anderson’s attorney says he shot White after the victim reached in his pocket.
