The Diamond Warriors travel baseball program will hold the Wounded Warrior Classic showcase Sept. 21-22 at various sites in Mount Pleasant. Teams from 9U to 16U will participate in the two-day event with half of the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Wounded Warrior Project provides programs and services to severely injured service members as they transition between active duty and civilian life.
“We will have some veterans here and donation booths will be available,” said Jamie Bradford of the Diamond Warriors. Bradford said he expected approximately 25 teams to participate. The format is not tournament but a showcase event with teams playing four games.
Registration for Summerville Junior Team Tennis is open through Sept. 15. The league is for players ages 6-12 and teams for ages 14-18 will be formed if there is enough interest. Coaches and assistant coaches in all ages are being sought. Visit sctennis.com/summervillejtt for more information.
