North Charleston firefighters are investigating after a boat caught fire near the River’s Edge Marina Thursday morning.
Authorities who responded to the marina on Bridgeview Drive reported seeing smoke and flames come from a boat near the dock, Fire Department spokeswoman Bianca Sancic said.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and helped the owner take the boat out of the water, Sancic said.
St. John’s firefighters and Charleston County Rescue Squad assisted in the incident. The U.S. Coast Guard was also notified, Sancic said.
No injuries were reported, but the 22-foot Crownline boat was a total loss, Sancic said.
