North Charleston police were looking for a moped rider who fled — at about 20 mph — after a traffic stop Wednesday.
The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. near a mobile home park at 5737 Dorchester Road. The area is south of the intersection with Michaux Parkway.
Police officers said a moped was involved and had been going about 20 mph, according to their radio communications. They found clothing discarded behind a nearby Hess gas station and ordered a police dog to help in the search.
A subject fled from a traffic stop and officers were searching the area for him, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor.
No further information was immediately available.
