Oklahomans rally in support of Veronica’s birth father, Indian Child Welfare Act
About 40 people gathered in Oklahoma City, Okla., today to rally in support of 3-year-old Veronica’s biological father and the Indian Child Welfare Act, The Tulsa World reported.
The rally comes three days after a series of court hearings aimed at settling the contentious custody dispute between Veronica’s father, Dusten Brown, a Cherokee citizen, and her adoptive parents, Matt and Melanie Capobianco of James Island.
A mediation agreement was reached at Friday’s hearings, but details have been sealed under a gag order.
