Georgetown football team hopes to keep momentum going

Bradley Adams had a three-year plan when he was named coach of the Georgetown Bulldogs in 2010. He wanted to build a solid foundation, win early in his tenure and keep the tradition going.

The Bulldogs responded with 18 victories in 30 games, including a 6-4 mark last fall.

Now, the team must keep the energy high.

The team has 11 starters back, but Bradley points out, “We don’t have the numbers like we did before. I think it’s that way here and everywhere. Football is a demanding sport.”

Jordan Ward is back for his fourth year as starter at running back. He is 6-2, 210 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds. Junior Michael Billings is another skilled running back who also plays in the secondary. Cody Floyd is a talented linebacker who can run with the football.

“Those three are the heart of our team,” said Adams, whose team competes in Region 7-AAA. “Everyone else doesn’t have that much experience.”
