Tanger Outlet Center is landing more well-known brands.
In addition to the recent opening of Jos. A Bank men's clothing store and Starbucks Coffee, Rackroom Shoes will open late October or early November near Loft Outlet. Also, New York & Company, which has apparel stores in both Northwoods and Citadel malls, will open in early September between Gap and Chico's, according to Penny Benton general manager of Tanger's North Charleston center.
Hard-core Parrotheads are in mourning: Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville shop at 282 King St. in downtown Charleston will close Aug. 31 after a 15-year run. All merchandise is on sale at 45 percent off. When the shop opened in August 1998 it was one of the first in the specialty retail chain.
A restaurant called Tasty Sushi recently leased 1,350 square feet at 874 Orleans Road in Summerall Square across from Citadel Mall in West Ashley, according to Belk/Lucy real estate firm.
The shop was once Glitz N Glamour Eyelash Bar and Spa. The new restaurant should open in about two months.

Holy City Pizzeria is now open in the food court at Citadel Mall. The new restaurant is the project of Topher Pecora and his fiancee, Kacie Faulling. The two recently competed in Food Network's “Food Court Wars” for a chance to open their own business rent-free for a year in a mall.
The new eatery beat out Charleston Gourmet Burger Co. in a competition that aired earlier this week but was filmed at the West Ashley mall in June.
Steven Shell Living, a home goods, decor and furnishing store, has opened at 642 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant.
Old to new
Palmetto Goodwill will hold a grand reopening of its Clearance Center and Computer Works stores on Friday, starting with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m.
The stores are just down the street from their current locations at 6813 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. Computer Works is a complete electronics sales and service store, offering refurbished goods and diagnostic testing.
