Charleston Area Convention and Visitor Bureau sites have Lt. Dan Band tickets
Tickets for next month’s Lt. Dan Band concert are now available at Charleston Area Convention and Visitor Bureau locations.
The concert, sponsored by the nonprofit Independence Fund, is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium. Poor ticket sales have threatened to cancel the event.
The Lt. Dan Band features actor Gary Sinise, and is named after the character he played in the movie “Forrest Gump.” The rock cover band plays dozens of benefits for wounded military veterans every year, and has played the past three years in Beaufort.
The Independence Fund helps wounded combat veterans with therapy and funds the purchase of motorized wheelchairs and other equipment that military insurance does not cover. To date, the seven-year-old charity has raised more than $10 million, all of which has gone into these services.
Tickets for the event have been available on the website ldw4.org, but hard tickets are now available at the downtown, Mount Pleasant and North Charleston offices of the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Tickets are $20 for general admission, or $50 for VIP tickets in the stadium’s luxury suite. All proceeds will be used by the Independence Fund to pay for veterans’ health services.
