Reverend and Mrs. Robert "BOB" Henson Reverend Robert (Bob) Thomas Henson and Nancy Stephens Henson of Ladson, SC, celebrated 61 years of marriage on August 9, 2013. Bob proposed to Nancy after only knowing each other for 3 weeks. He always said he knew she was the one for him from the beginning. They had a church wedding August 9, 1952 in Anderson, IN. Bob was born in 1929 in Buffalo, WV and attended Anderson College in Anderson, IN. Nancy was born in 1934 in Anderson, IN and a retiree of General Motors. Throughout their life together they were pastors, evangelists, music ministers, song writers along with making records, produced and directed religious plays, led numerous tours to Israel and other countries, studied opera in NYC and Cincinnati. Bob sang the National Anthem for Cincinnati Reds on more than one occasion. Bob was affectionately known as the singing preacher before it became popular and Nancy was always by his side playing piano. After retiring they moved to Florida and lived there for 20 years serving their community in Florida. They recently moved to Ladson, SC, to live close to their daughter and her family. They are blessed with a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Martha Henson, and a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Harry Bryan. Bob and Nancy are also very proud of each one of their 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Happy 61st Wedding Anniversary!
