BLUFFTON — Hanahan defeated Florida, 5-2, in eight innings, and edged North Carolina, 4-3, to advance to the championship game of the Dixie Ponytails World Series.
The softball title game is 6 p.m.
The Hanahan Dixie Angels team crushed Alabama, 15-0, in Petal, Miss., on Monday and played Louisiana on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to Wednesday’s championship game.

Charleston Southern announced five new members to be inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame. Comprising the 2013 class are 2006 Big South male track athlete of the year Nathan Breland, 2005 Big South football defensive player of the year Jada Ross, former Big South golf champion Shawn Hall, former PGA Tour professional Jason Caron, and a three-time All-Big South women’s tennis selection Meryam Tazi.
Goose Creek Post 166 was eliminated from the American Legion baseball state tournament late Monday with a 14-4 loss to the Greenville Post 3 Generals in seven innings in Sumter.
