Walterboro police on Saturday charged a 61-year-old man accused of firing a gun at another man’s feet during an argument, a report states.
John Lucas, of Leith Lane in Walterboro, is charged with discharging a firearm within city limits in connection with the incident, police said.
Officers were dispatched to Lucas’ home shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday concerning a shooting, the report states.
A 26-year-old man who also lives at the residence told officers that he got into an argument with Lucas while home on break from work.
Lucas asked the man to leave, which the man told police he refused. Then, Lucas pulled out a gun and fired at the man’s feet multiple times, police said.
Investigators collected three shell casings at the scene, the report states.
No one was injured in the shooting, police said.
Lucas, who has a history of cardiac problems, was transported to a local hospital and charged after he complained of chest pains, police said.
