Walterboro police are investigating a couple’s complaint that someone kicked in their home’s back door and stole prescription drugs.
Police were dispatched to a Sable Street home shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday concerning a reported burglary, an incident report states.
A man and a woman told police that they returned to their home to find their back door kicked in.
The residents looked further and discovered that several bottles of pills were missing from their kitchen counter near the door, the report states.
Multiple small dogs that were loose in the home might have prevented the burglar from venturing deeper into the home, the residents told police.
An arrest has not yet been made in the case, police said.
