Barrett E. Sammons has joined Moore Beauston & Woodham LLP as a senior accountant in the Charleston office’s tax and business consulting practice. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from the College of Charleston. He is a certified public accountant.
John A. Connell has been promoted to deputy director of engineering and planning at the Charleston County Aviation Authority. Previously, he was director of engineering and facilities and was a civil engineer in the U.S. Air Force. He replaced Jim Fann, who retired.Connell has a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Clarkson University, a master’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina.
Jim Hutto has joined CresCom Bank as a vice president and commercial loan officer based in the West Ashley branch. He has 15 years of banking industry experience. Previously, he was a vice president in the commercial banking sector at BB&T Corp. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in finance and accounting from the College of Charleston.
Joe Ramsey has joined Choate Construction Co.’s Charleston office as director of operations. He has 35 years of construction industry experience.
James Chavez has been named president and chief executive officer of the South Carolina Power Team. He succeeds Ralph Thomas, who retired. Previously, Chavez was president and CEO of the Clarksville-Montgomery Economic Development Council in Tennessee.
Sarah Piwinski and Amy Segelhurst have joined Trident United Way.
Piwinski is manager of the Links to Success program. Previously she was the science, technology, engineering and math collaborative coordinator at The Citadel.
Segelhurst is administrative assistant.
Cheryl Ferraro has been named vice president of Humanities Foundation. She is responsible for financial reporting and managing all financial systems for the organization. Previously, she was with the accounting firm of Hyland Ruddy and Garbett CPAs. She is a certified public accountant.
Mary Perdue has joined AgentOwned Realty as an agent based in the Isle of Palms office of. She has a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in English from the University of Chicago. Previously, she was a real estate agent for 10 years in the Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet markets.
Iverson Brownell has joined Charleston Hospitality Group as corporate chef for Eli’s Table, Toast, Market Street Saloon, Tabbuli, Queology, Whisk Bakery and the Wreckfish. Previously, he was owner and operator of Iverson Catering. He has a bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales University.
