A Charleston area real estate agency recently added two new specialists — a veteran Realtor and an office manager.
Carol Corrigan, who has amassed 25 years in the home building industry, joined Elaine Brabham & Associates as sales associate.
Corrigan’s acquired knowledge from working as a real estate assistant, closing coordinator and building supervisor has helped prepared her for the new role, the agency says.
She says she is “excited to be a part of such a well-respected and trusted agency.”
Corrigan recently completed her bachelor’s degree of business administration and graduated with honors, according to Elaine Brabham & Associates.
Her family includes two grown children. She lives with her husband in the house they built together in West Ashley.
Corrigan, a member of Toastmasters International and the Junior League of Charleston, spends her spare time running as well as taking part in yoga and meditation. She also is involved in fundraising and volunteering for local charities and in advocating for a clean, safe environment.
Separately, Melanie Ropp has been named office assistant.
She boasts an extensive Lowcountry background, familiar with everything from rural areas to the beaches. “I know the school zones, flood zones, neighborhood demographics and traffic patterns,” the Charleston native says.
She cites qualities and skills that go into becoming an “excellent” real estate professional such as community expertise, effective negotiation skills, high-quality professional networking, in-depth market knowledge, integrity and marketing savvy. She says they’re all hallmarks of her job performance.
Ropp says she’s a “talented” graphic designer with experience in print and web design. Other skills include:

Mount Pleasant’s Tributary neighborhood will more than double in size as the result of its faster-than-expected expansion, according to backers.
Sales in the village’s first stage in RiverTowne Country Club “have been so strong” that the company bankrolling the project plans to start selling additional lots this month.
Interested buyers can check out sites for “design‐influenced” homes priced in the high $300,000s, developer FrontDoor Communities says. Reservations are being taken for the 23 new lots. Of these, 15 sites afford uncommon wetlands views. FrontDoor Communities encourages home seekers to visit the enclave’s detailed sales model to reserve their lot.
The new Tributary homes feature “relaxed” 2,000-3,100 square foot sizes, generous porches and careful siting to take advantage of views, breezes and green spaces, the developer says.
Builders are framing 17 houses in construction phase one, which sports design perks “often reserved for custom homes,” backers note. Award‐winning local architects Eric Brown and Eric Moser designed all 10 models.
Open floor plans and “Lowcountry charm” indoors and out mark the homes.
Tributary’s property is nestled within RiverTowne Country Club, home to an 18‐hole championship golf course and close to schools, beaches and historic downtown Charleston.
Each home will feature a doorknocker: Richard Guthrie of the American College of the Building Arts hand‐hewn the ornaments. Inside, Reclaimed Design Works transformed discarded wood beams into fireplace mantels.
According to FrontDoor Communities, buyers can add special features such as locally made porch swings from Island Bed Swings and blown-glass cabinet pulls from Sullivan’s Island artist Susanne Harris. Summerville Shutter Company, meanwhile, designed special shutters for the homes.

•Realtors association brings on service reps, elevates staffers•
In a wave of moves, Charleston Trident Association of Realtors has hired two new employees and promoted four members of its workforce.
Daezhue Hunt and Mark Karsten join the association as “member service coordinators,” says Meghan Weinreich, marketing and communications director.
Hunt, who graduated from the University of Bridgeport, previously worked at Velocity Powersports in Ladson.
A University of Arkansas-Fort Smith graduate, Karsten holds degrees in early childhood education and psychology. He was the bar manager at Cork Neighborhood Bistro in Park Circle prior to joining the Realtors association.
Meanwhile, the group promoted veteran staff members.
Frances Boyd, who has worked at association for six years, has been named controller. She is a Coastal Carolina University graduate.
Also, Joseph Cullom has moved up to executive director of the Charleston Trident Multiple Listing Service; and Claire Hart was elevated to “member programs and events director.” Cullom and Hart each joined the association five years ago and are graduates of Appalachian State University.
In addition, Caitlin Quinn Webb received a promotion to assistant to the chief executive. Webb has been with the Realtors group for more than a year. She attended Mercer University.

Tackling the real estate profession fits with a job progression that’s included interior designer and fitness center owner, a local businesswoman says.
Lea Kutyla, who lives in Mount Pleasant, recently joined Keller Williams Realty east of the Cooper.
“I have always had an interest in architecture, and an entrepreneurial career in sales and business development, so starting a career in real estate is the perfect next step in my career path,” she says.
Kutyla graduated from Winthrop University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design.
In 1993, she “launched” her professional career as a commercial interior designer/AutoCAD draftsman with a Charleston area firm. She co-founded French Quarter Interiors LLC three years later. The interior design firm specializes in residential design, space planning and soft goods fabrication.
In 2002, Kutyla and two partners opened a second business in Mount Pleasant, GymMasters Gymnastics LLC. The company was sold in 2007 to the current owner, she says.
Kutyla has resided in Mount Pleasant for 19 years, including the last decade in Snee Farm. She and her husband Tom, a commercial banker with TD Bank, have been married for 21 years. The couple have three children, with two at Mount Pleasant schools and one attending Clemson University.

The sales floor plan at a new triple-decker community in Mount Pleasant’s traditional business district will be the 2,414-square-foot Alexander design.
So says Ryland Homes, which is building the Six Fifty Six Coleman townhome village east of the Cooper.
Priced from $364,000, the Alexander will be the sales model for the townhome neighborhood being raised at 656 Coleman Blvd. Ryland Homes recently started construction on the luxury model, to showcase three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, two-car garage and covered porch.

Born and raised in Atlanta, she has lived in the Charleston area since her marriage in 1990. Her work experience includes positions in commercial real estate and banking. She attended Brenau Women’s College and Clemson University, receiving a degree in business administration.
Connolly, her husband and their three children live in Beresford Hall in Berkeley County.

A rather new adherent to the real estate field, Sarah Worel has chosen to make a move from one East Cooper brokerage to another.
Worel is joining Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. in its Mount Pleasant office.

Born in New England and educated out west, Jon Franko made his way to metro Charleston six years ago and now has signed on with a local real estate brokerage.
Franko recently joined the Summerville Trolley Road office of Carolina One Real Estate as a sales associate, the company says.
Trolley Road office manager Brenda Jaicks calls Franko “a talented individual who comes to us with a great deal of experience in sales and marketing. I have every confidence that he will succeed in his newly chosen career,” she says.
Prior to launching a real estate career, Franko spent 10 years in pharmaceutical sales training and management and five years in business-to-business (B2B) copier sales.
Franko, a native of Bridgeport, Conn., graduated with honors from the University of Colorado with a degree in architecture. He moved to the Charleston area in 2007. Franko lives in Summerville with his wife Michelle and son Jay.
