COLUMBIA, S.C. -- A 29-year-old Bamberg man is accused of killing a man after walking up to him as he played cards.

The State Law Enforcement Division said in a release Saturday that Tyrone Stroman Jr. is charged with murder in Tuesday’s shooting death of 38-year-old Gene Anderson of Bamberg.

According to an arrest warrant, witnesses told police that Stroman approached Anderson while they played cards on a porch. Anderson said something to Stroman and pushed him. As Stroman fell backward, he pulled out a gun and fired it several times. The witnesses say that when the shooting stopped, Anderson was lying face down on the porch.

Anderson died after being taken to the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
