11 people charged in prostitution sting on Remount Road, police say

A North Charleston Police Department investigation netted 11 arrests on Wednesday in connection with a prostitution operation on Remount Road, spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

The police department’s SPEED Team conducted the sting at the Remount Village shopping center, 1357 Remount Road, after community members complained of prostitution in that area, Pryor said.

Ten people were charged with solicitation for prostitution as a result of the investigation, Pryor said. An eleventh person was charged with disorderly conduct, he said.

Each accused person faces a $470 fine, Pryor said.
