HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- An alligator on Hilton Head Island was euthanized after it was found with 11 arrow wounds, including two through its eyes.
The Island Packet of Hilton Head reports that the gator was found over the weekend.
Joe Mafor of a company called Critter Management says both the animal’s eyes were shot. Mafor says when he got close to the gator, he thought it was dead but it moved away from him and had to be euthanized.
The Department of Natural resources is investigating.
