A 33-year-old North Charleston man is accused of taking a woman against her will on a six-hour ride around the tri-county early Sunday,
Kim Boyd of Napoleon Drive is charged with kidnapping, according to an arrest affidavit from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the warrant, a 32-year-old woman got into a man’s car outside Charlie O’s Club on Dorchester Road after there was a disturbance inside the nightclub. The two drove away from the club, with the woman begging the driver to take her home or let her out of the car.
He instead drove her around Berkeley and Dorchester counties until around 8 a.m., when she told the man she was calling a friend but instead dialed 911.
Dorchester County dispatchers and deputies located the car on U.S. Highway 78 and, when they learned the incident had begun in Charleston County, they contacted the Charleston County deputies.
Boyd is being held in the Charleston County jail on $25,000 bail.
