A Lincolnville couple were both arrested after a fight that involved shots being fired.

Eric Winfield Thacker, 26, is charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. He was being held at the Charleston County jail Monday in lieu of $25,000 bail.

His girlfriend, 26-year-old Eliece Putman, is charged with third-degree assault and battery in connection with the incident.

Charleston County deputies were called to a house on East Cain Street about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the incident report. Putman told deputies Thacker had hit her and fired a gun during an argument. Thacker said he fired the gun into the ground from the front porch.

Deputies found two spent shell casings on the front porch and flower bed. A Ruger P95 9mm semiautomatic handgun was under a mattress, according to the report.

A witness told deputies Thacker pointed the gun at Putnam inside the house.

Putman was charged because her mother said Putnam hit and threatened her while she was calling 911, according to the report.
