North Charleston police are investigating after a bullet struck a woman on Stall Road on Friday morning.
Police officers were called to a Sunoco gas station at 5800 Rivers Avenue about 2:15 a.m. regarding someone being wounded in a shooting, an incident report states.
Several people surrounded a 2003 silver Audi that was parked in front of the gas station, police said.
The vehicle’s driver, a 26-year-old Charleston woman, told police that her 24-year-old friend had been shot in the leg just above her knee.
Four friends were headed home in the Audi after partying at Club Showtime when the shooting occurred, police said. The North Charleston club is located at 3381 Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston, Deputy Police Chief Scott Deckard said.
A vehicle approached them as they travelled on Stall Road toward Midland Park. Someone fired at them multiple times, striking a woman in the back seat, the report states.
The friends then drove to the nearby gas station to contact police.
Paramedics transported the wounded woman to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
Investigators searched the surrounding area and found four nickel-plated shell casings in the middle of the road, police said.
A suspect in the shooting has not been identified.
