ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- An Orangeburg woman has died in a wreck involving a Calhoun County sheriff’s deputy.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened at an intersection about five miles north of Orangeburg on U.S. 21 late Tuesday morning.
Orangeburg County Deputy Coroner Sean Fogle says 29-year-old Tiffany Benjamin died at the scene from injuries in the wreck.
Calhoun County Sheriff Thomas Summers says the deputy was taken to the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg for treatment of injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
The deputy’s name has not been released.
The wreck is still under investigation.
