A Summerville man is serving probation after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography in Berkeley County, authorities said.
Keith Spindler, 40, of Tram Court pleaded guilty to Circuit Judge Roger Young in Berkeley County of one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to J. Mark Powell, spokesman for the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.
Spindler’s ex-girlfriend discovered child pornography on their home computer in July 2009 and turned it in to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Powell said.
Spindler received a three-year suspended sentence and two years probation, Powell said,
Spindler consented to the forfeiture of his computer and he will be required to register as a sex offender, Powell said.
The state sex offender registry shows that Spindler is now staying in Rochester, N.Y.
