WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Actor-director James Franco is shooting “The Garden of Last Days” in Winston-Salem starting next month.
The Winston-Salem Journal reported that an open casting call is planned Sunday.
The film is based on the best-selling book by Andre Dubus III. The film is described as a contemporary thriller set in the seamy underside of American life.
Filming is set July 10-Aug. 6. It was not clear how much of the film is being shot in the Winston-Salem area. Franco may co-star in the film.
